Calls For Papers See our past Calls for Papers

One of the premier publications in the field of feminist and gender studies, Frontiers has distinguished itself for its diverse and decisively interdisciplinary publication agenda that explores the critical intersections among—to name a few dimensions—gender, race, sexuality, and transnationalism. Frontiers is currently housed in the School for Cultural and Social Transformation at the University of Utah.

There are no current call for papers. However, Frontiers accepts submissions all year! Learn more through our Submission Guidelines page.

Call for Artists

Frontiers is actively seeking artwork for both cover art and art galleries published within issues. We wish to feature emerging artists who may benefit from the interdisciplinary scholarly context. We are interested in different forms of art and visual culture, including but not limited to painting, graphic design, printmaking, sculpture, craft, installation, new media, and photography. We encourage artists to submit critical essays to feature their art work.

Call for
Book Reviewers

Frontiers is actively seeking engaged feminist and gender studies scholars and practitioners interested in writing book reviews for its online blog, Frontiers Augmented. Reviews should be original, 1000 words in length, and written in clear and concise language for a general academic audience. Reviews should seek to balance the goals of exposition, context and critical analysis.

To express your interest, please submit a letter of interest, a brief bio, and your areas of specialty to FrontiersJournal@utah.edu. If accepted, Frontiers’ staff and editorial collective will work with you to find a recent feminist and gender studies publication of mutual interest.

Visit Frontiers Augmented

Frontiers Augmented seeks to create a means for deeper engagement with the content published in the Frontiers Journal by featuring author interviews, book reviews, round table discussions, artist perspectives, podcast editions and beyond.
